Ohio Valley HeartCare's cardiovascular surgeons are skilled in the latest surgical techniques that help improve recovery from surgery. A new alternative method for removing the saphenous vein is endoscopic vein harvesting.
In this procedure, the surgeon will make one to three small incisions in your leg. An advanced fiber optic camera will be gently guided through special surgical instruments to remove or "harvest", the saphenous vein. Through this new technique, you will have smaller, less painful leg incisions and a faster post-operative recovery.
